Grouse Ridge Tree Farm was purchased in 1990. The farm has been in my family for nearly a century. We are located about halfway between Staunton and Lexington, in the northern section of Rockbridge County. The farm is about 7.5 miles west of I-81, Exit 205. The first planting was in the spring of 1991 at an altitude of 1600 feet. The bulk of our sales are choose & cut customers, generally families who enjoy the rural outing. The freshness of the air and the trees give our patrons memories for years to come. It is always a fun thing to harvest a renewable plant whose scent and freshness will fill one's home and give lasting memories. The children (adults, too) love our homemade cookies. The smiles on their faces are priceless! At present we have Blue, White, Siberian and Norway Spruce, and Concolor and Douglas Fir. Live wreaths are made by special order only.
Directions: From the village of Raphine (Exit 205, I-81) go west on County Rd 606 to State Rd 252. Turn right and go to New Providence Rd at New Providence Church. Turn left and go to Pisgah Rd (620). Turn right and go 1.5 miles to our farm entrance on left. Grouse Ridge Farm is actually near the village of Brownsburg.
Hours: We are open December 1st - 22nd, 11am to 1 pm Monday through Saturday, and 2pm to 4 pm on Sunday.
