Since 1999, Don and Jenny
Hochstein have turned a 70-acre former tobacco farm into not
only their home, but into Pick-A-Pine Plantation, a cornucopia
of seven varieties of Virginia-grown Christmas trees. The
perfect beginning to an old-fashioned Christmas season for your
family will be joining them on the farm to help them celebrate
their crop of choose-and-cut Scotch pine and Virginia
pine for sale. The Hochsteins have adorned the rolling vista of their farm with 8,000 seedlings, and new varieties of Virginia-grown pine, fir, and spruce will be ready to be harvested in holiday seasons to come. This year, venture into the fields to choose and cut your own Scotch pine or Virginia pine ranging from 5' to 12-foot full-size trees. All choose and cut trees up to 7' are $25, 8' and up are $45, free baling included. Fresh wreaths and greens hand-crafted on site will also be available. Choosing a Virginia-grown Christmas tree from Pick-A-Pine Plantation is an experience sure to put the whole family in the mood for a country Christmas. You may be joined on your walk through the fields by deer, bunnies, quail, or turkeys, and you can visit the chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and horses in the barnyard areas. The Hochsteins, members of the Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association, look forward to providing your family with your own Virginia-grown Christmas tree this season and for many holidays to come. |
