Isle of Wight County

Zuni Tree & Alpaca Farm is located in Zuni, Virginia, in the county of Isle of Wight. Our farm is about 1.2 miles off route 460. We purchased the farm in 1999 with Christmas trees growing here. We did not know how to shear the trees and joined the Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association and was given the training needed to operate our farm.

My husband Ronald and I (Shirley) grew up in Norfolk Virginia. Ronald graduated from Maury High School and I graduated from Lake Taylor High School. We both have family living in Virginia Beach and Ronald has two sisters living in the western part of Virginia and one sister in Arizona. We now live in the western part of Hampton Roads.

Our farm has about 2,000 white pines ready for Christmas. After your tree is selected, it is shaken to remove loose needles and netted for easier handling. We have other varieties planted, but it will be a few more years before they are ready. A garage is use for a gift shop at Christmas and it does have heat. We sell fresh wreaths, tree stands, bows, and a few other items in the shop.

We have two alpacas on our farm and hope to expand in the future and they are wonderful to watch. For the past two selling seasons, friends from Ambler’s Alpacas have their young alpacas here for everyone to enjoy and clothing made from their wonderful fiber.
