The Trees for Troops program of the National Christmas Tree Association and Christmas Spirit Foundation, provides Real Christmas trees to our military personnel in the United Sates and around the world.

In 2007 16,846 trees were donated by over 750 Christmas tree growers in 29 states. The trees were delivered to over 37 military bases in 15 countries. FedEx traveled over 51,000 miles in donating the tree deliveries for the third straight year.

Christmas tree growers all across Virginia donated more than 800 trees with some traveling to the southern and mid west portions of the United States. Virginia Christmas tree growers are grateful for the opportunity to support our military personnel and bring happiness to those that are risking their lives everyday for our country.

Virginia and the Virginia Christmas Tree growers Association are again participating in the Trees for Troops program in 2008. The goal for Virginia is to exceed 1000 trees for the first time in the program's history.

Pick up locations this year will be in Northern Virginia(Middleburg), Central Virginia (Mineral), and Southwest Virginia (Whitetop, and Radford).
